Hi everyone! My name is Hugh McGuire, and I was appointed the SPRED Co-ordinator for the Galloway Diocese in August 2023.

FRIENDS ‘WEE BLETHER’ – TUESDAY 13 FEBRUARY
All of our Friends, including their Family and Carers are invited to the SPRED Office for an informal get together.
The suggested time is between . . .12 Noon and 2 pm.
However I will still be pleased to see you at other times that day if you let me know in advance.
I would like to invite our Friends into the Office more regularly. Maybe even once per month. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions about this initiative please contact me.
RECONCILIATION SERVICE – MONDAY 19 FEBRUARY
St Margaret’s Church Hall at 7 pm.
Everyone Welcome.
This will be led by Deacon Robert Mackie who at present is the Church Representative on the Board of Trustees.
I will also hold a Reconciliation Session in the SPRED Office at
12 Noon for those of our Friends who do not wish to come out to the evening service.
LOOKING BACK – DECEMBER
Check out our Gallery and Facebook for pictures of some of the following events: Advent Mass and Christmas Party, Advent Service, Carol Singing. This was a very busy and enjoyable month for the SPRED Galloway Family. I hope to post a fuller report on the Website.
LOOKING BACK – JANUARY
Ayr Hospital Radio interview publicising the work of SPRED. This took place during the Sunday show – 12pm -2pm on 21.1.24 – hosted by Scott O’Hare. He is one of our Friends who attends the Ayr, Monday Evening Group. Scott is hoping to provide a Competition item for our future Monthly Newsletters, so watch this space.
LOOKING FORWARD – DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
It has just been confirmed that our next Diocesan SPRED Mass will take place on Sunday 17 March. Further details will be include in our March Newsletter, but for now, note the date in your diary.
FUNDRAISING
A number of events are being planned. However the next big one will be the KILTWALK on SUNDAY APRIL 28. More details in the March Newsletter.
A FINAL THOUGHT
We are companions on the Journey of Life and Faith. Please send in any thoughts on how we can improve the Newsletter as we walk this journey together.
